Duties include performing classroom instruction and practical application at the MFF Simulator (Vertical Wind Tunnel), aboard numerous types of aircraft and in free fall IAW established company standards and policies. Direct and performs intense, high-risk MFF training designed to demonstrate the importance and uses of various tactical MFF applications. Responsible for ensuring the adherence of policies and guidelines established by USSOCOM, USASOC, USAJFKSWCS, and 1st SWTG(A) policies for Military Free Fall and Instructor Training. Assists the Company Safety Officer in the development and revision of safety policies and procedures. Reviews and approves additional Free Fall related, professional licensing and commercial ratings for all assigned personnel: The United Parachute Association (USPA) Accelerated Free Fall Instructor Course, Air Videographer Course and Tandem Master Course. Conducts course content and student performance criteria analysis and makes recommendations for improvements and revisions. Authors, develops, recommends and evaluates new training material and equipment to include current or new technology and doctrinal developments. Responsible for ensuring adherence to MFF policies and guidelines established by USSOCOM, USASOC, USAJFKSWCS, and 1st SWTG (A). Serves as the subject matter expert on Basic and Advanced Military Freefall techniques and advises the commander on necessary updates and revisions in TTPs. Required to develop and tailor the Individual Training Plan (ITP) for each of the POIs to ensure proper budgeting and resource management (Air Support, Personnel TDY costs, Support, Supply, Transportation, Professional Military Education, etc.) ICCW the Company Executive Officer. Responsible for submitting all recommendations for POI revisions to the chain of command IAW the 2nd BN Policy Letter 01-13 for approval and coordinates subsequent editing process by the SWCS Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DOTD). Responsible for ensuring adherence to current MFF Training Programs of Instruction (POI) for each of the Military Free Fall School courses: Military Free Fall Parachutist Course (MFFPC) Military Free Fall Jump Master Course (MFFJMC) Military Free Fall Advanced Tactical Infiltration Course (MFFATIC) and the Military Free Fall Instructor Course (MFFIC). Participates in the development and preparation of Military Free Fall analysis and studies of Military Free Fall-related issues to include: New COTS and Military Ram-Air Parachute Systems (MRAPS) integration, new course development, and new equipment testing and emerging Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). Develops various information papers, briefings, fact sheets, and correspondence on relevant topics. The incumbent plans and coordinates budget, course instruction, evaluation and student accreditation reviewing and approving additional Free Fall related, non-military professional licensing and commercial ratings for all assigned Company personnel assisting company safety team in the development and revision of safety policies and procedures ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines, developing and tailoring responsibilities to available resources and providing technical and administrative supervision of subordinate training instructors. Serves as Training Instructor at the Military Free Fall Center of Excellence responsible for the development of Military Free Fall Instructors for United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), ensuring assigned military and civilian personnel are trained, keep current and capable of performing their duties as Military Free Fall Instructors (MFFI).
